Gemma Ross is an author, historian and storyteller whose work explores the women, rituals and inherited stories that shape our lives.
Her writing celebrates overlooked voices, intergenerational memory and the lasting influence of women in both public and private life — from the stars of British comedy to the grandmothers who quietly hold families together.
Gemma is the author of The Carry On Girls and the forthcoming book celebrating Women in Comedy. She is also the creator of The Comedy Historian Podcast and regularly speaks on cultural history, women in entertainment and storytelling.
Alongside her historical work, Gemma is currently developing a deeply personal new book inspired by her Nonna, exploring family, heritage, womanhood and the wisdom passed between generations.
Whether writing about film, family or memory, Gemma combines rigorous research with warmth, wit and a passion for preserving stories that matter.
